Concrete Driveways in and Around Fall Creek
A country driveway asks different questions than one in town: where a truck and trailer swing, where the snow gets pushed, and which way the water runs off. We set the forms to answer those first. Then it is poured, broomed and jointed like any other drive.
Out here the road matters as much as the lot. On a county highway the county wants a permit for the driveway, and its policy keeps concrete at least 10 feet back from the edge of the highway pavement. In the village, the village office is the place to ask. The rest of the job is laid out on our page about concrete driveway installation in the Eau Claire area.
Shop Floors, Garage Slabs and Shed Slabs
A country property often needs more flat concrete than a town lot: a shop floor, a slab for the machine shed, a pad by the garage for the trailer. Each is sized to what it carries, so the first question is always what will park or roll on it.
If a building is going up on the slab, the layout comes from the builder’s plan, and we pour to it. A big slab or a long drive also moves a lot of dirt, and outside the village the county asks for an erosion control permit once the disturbed area gets large enough. See concrete slabs for shops, sheds and garages.
Patios, Walks and Steps
Not every job is a big one. We pour patios off the back door, walks from the drive to the house, and steps that sit square to the threshold. A patio or a walk gets a slope that carries water away from the foundation, and a stamped finish is there if you want more than plain gray.
The Ground Comes First
Concrete only does as well as what is under it. Before any forms go in we look at how the site drains, where the downspouts empty and what the soil is like once the sod is off. Soft or wet spots are dug out and filled with compacted gravel. It is the part of the job nobody sees afterward, and it is the reason a slab stays flat.
Eau Claire is just west of here, and concrete contractors out of Eau Claire is what we are. When you call, say which road the property is on, since that decides who has to be asked about the driveway.
